Featured in Charleston’s Holy City Sinner: Henley Carr Debuts with “Dear Everyone,”

I’m so excited to share that Dear Everyone is officially releasing on September 22, 2025 — and Holy City Sinner just ran a beautiful feature introducing what inspired this book.

Sixty years ago, Martha McCaffray, age 22, sailed to Florence, Italy, for one bold year. In sixty letters home she lived, painted, traveled and chose what she believed she wanted, at least for a time, over what was expected. Decades later, I found those letters and wove them into my own story of grief, motherhood, ambition, and what it means to truly choose yourself.

I was also recently featured in Business Insider in “I’m done being a girlboss. I want my legacy to be motherhood over money and career growth”, which speaks directly to the themes in Dear Everyone: the cost of ambition, the weight of expectation, and choosing authenticity over external definitions of success.

If you want to read more about the book’s origins, the Holy City Sinner article goes deeper.
